Day 4

On Monday, we tried to do something that Zack had never done before. We headed to Ptarmigan Creek just outside Seward. The sockeye salmon were paired up - a buck and a hen. It is almost the end of salmon season and their life. The good news is that the rainbow trout were really biting and we had the stream to ourselves.

We were in the middle of bear country. We walked through the thick forest yelling "Hey bear!" On the way back to the car, we saw where a bear had pooped on the trail. I sure am glad we did not run into him.

Today, we are headed north to Anchorage and possibly Denali. The weather is rainy and cool just like our fall at home. It feels wonderful!
