Alaska

Yesterday, August 13, we flew from Charlotte to Chicago to Anchorage. Ashleigh read the arrival time in Chicago instead of the departure time from Charlotte so we had to run to catch the plane. Jackson never cried the whole time we were flying (8 hours).

When we flew over the Inside Passage, it was beautiful! We could see the snowcapped mountains, glaciers and glacier fed streams. The glacier water is Caribbean blue and about 40F.

In Anchorage, we rented a car from CheapWheels. We went to a local lunch counter and ordered halibut sandwiches. The owner was the equivalent of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld.

We drove 2.5 hours to Cooper Landing where Zack lives and works. We kept the baby up until midnight Eastern Standard Time (8 PM here). It is 4AM as we are making this post in Alaska. Jackson thinks you get up when it is light. It is dark right now from 11PM until 3:30AM.

Today, I think we are going fishing on the Kenai River.

P.S. It rains everyday here.
